Surfing by veto is so efficient and simple that one has to wonder why not all browsers do it. Basically, a browser will navigate EVERYWHERE unless you block some sites. On the contrary, this one is going NOWHERE because all sites are blocked until your veto is lifted. Any navigation to a new site (requested or not), must be confirmed like this: 1) Safe site: always open content without asking. 2) Dubious site: always block content without asking. 3) Ok to visit today, but re-confirm tomorrow. 4) Cancel this navigation. The purpose is to disclose all hidden navigation (usually to ads purveyor) to block them if needed. The REAL destination is also displayed, even if the address in the status bar is tricked. The result is that the more you surf, the smarter it becomes... confirmations tend to disappear, banner ads too, and most of all, nothing enters your computer without notice.

Within DirectX, the DirectShow technology performs client-side audio and video sourcing, manipulation, and rendering. There are two buffer overruns with identical effects in the function used by DirectShow to check parameters in a Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) file. A security vulnerability results because it could be possible for a malicious user to attempt to exploit these flaws and execute code in the security context of the logged-on user.

A flaw exists in a Windows NT 4.0 Server file management function that can cause a denial of service vulnerability. The flaw results because the affected function can cause memory that it does not own to be freed when a specially crafted request is passed to it. If the application making the request to the function does not carry out any user input validation and allows the specially crafted request to be passed to the function, the function may free memory that it does not own. As a result, the application passing the request could fail.
